Moravian Men Post Four ECAC Marks at Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field squad recorded four ECAC qualifying marks at the Muhlenberg College Invitational Saturday hosted by the Mules at Scotty Wood Stadium.

Leading the Hounds were junior Austin Gardener, who finished fourth in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 10.99 seconds and second in the 200-meter dash in 22.54 seconds, and junior Kahron Walker, who placed third in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 1.93 meters (6-4). Sophomore Kyle Allison was the runner-up in the javelin with an ECAC qualifying toss of 56.00 meters (183-9) while junior Michael Guarino placed fourth with an ECAC qualifying toss of 53.07 meters (174-1) and sophomore Robert Condo  took sixth with a mark of 51.85 meters (170-1).

Freshman Denzel Pettway placed third in the discus with a toss of 43.26 meters (141-11) while freshman Jon Anthony finished seventh at 41.00 meters (134-6) and graduate student Parker Munson was eighth at 39.22 meters (128-8). In the hammer throw Friday evening at Moravian, Munson was sixth at 39.87 meters (130-10) while Pettway took eighth at 35.41 meters (116-2), freshman Hunter Gibson placed ninth with a toss of 33.53 meters (110-0) and Anthony finished tenth at 29.19 meters (95-9).

Freshman Scott Goodwin was tied for eighth in the pole vault at a height of 3.66 meters (12-0) while freshman Chris Cordi finished in a tie for tenth at 3.50 meters (11-5.75). Freshman Brian Stock was ninth in the long jump with a leap of 6.04 meters (19-9.75).

In other top 10 results on the track, sophomore Mike Kopach was the runner-up in the 800-meter run in 1:59.82 while senior Tyler Dwyer was ninth in the 400-meter dash in 51.50 seconds. Freshman John Spirk was fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.33 seconds and he was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 58.37 seconds while senior Ryan Sickler placed ninth in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.52 seconds.

Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Dwyer, Sicker, sophomore Esco Blaylock and freshman Na'im Pretlow was third in 3:33.48 while the 4x100-meter relay squad of juniors Matt Barnett and Jamil Poole, sophomore Eric Morton and freshman Chris Antoine placed third in 44.01 seconds.

Moravian will return to action when the Greyhounds host the Annual Coach P Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9 at Rocco Calvo Field. Action is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
