Greyhounds Compete at ECAC Championship

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's track and field team competed at the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championship Friday night and throughout the day Saturday. The Greyhounds tied for 14th of 51 team with 19 points.

Freshman Denzel Pettway finished fourth in the shot put with a Moravian and Landmark Conference record toss of 15.81m (51-10.5) just beating out graduate student Parker Munson, who threw a 15.77m (51-9). Munson also threw in the weight throw and finished 17th with a 15.02m (49-3.5) throw. In the high jump junior Kahron Walker finished fourth clearing a height 1.98m (6-6). Then in the long jump Walker finished 14th leaping 6.34m (29-0.75) while teammate senior Gavin Bailey finished fourth with a jump of 6.82m (22-4.5).

Junior Austin Gardener competed in the 200 meter dash running a time of 22.44. In the 4x200 meter relay the team of Gardener, seniors John Barr and Tyler Dwyer and freshman Chris Antoine finished 11th running a 1:30.99. Rounding out the day for the Hounds was freshman John Spirk, who finished 18th with a time of 8.88.
