Munson Honored as Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College graduate student Parker Munson has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance this past weekend.

Munson helped the Greyhounds to a fourth place finish at the Lafayette College 7-Way Meet on Saturday as Moravian began its 2016 outdoor season. Munson finished second in the discus with an ECAC qualifying toss of 44.33 meters (145-5), and he also took fourth in the shot put with an ECAC qualifying mark of 14.87 meters (48-9.5). Both marks currently have Munson ranked 23rd on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list with the top 20 males in the nation in all events competing at the NCAA Division III Championships in late May.

"It was a great start for Parker opening up with two ECAC marks within an hour of each other," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "We obviously expected him to qualify this year, and truth be told have higher goals, but it is still gratifying to already be at the starting point and now work on giving it his best shot to make it to Iowa in May."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 1-2 in the Muhlenberg College Invitational.
