BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University baseball team is set to begin its 2022 season on Saturday, February 19 with a non-conference doubleheader at Hampden-Sydney (Va.) College.
The Greyhounds will complete the three-game series at Hampden-Sydney on Sunday, February 20 before heading back North for a non-conference contest at Kean (N.J.) University on February 22. Moravian travels to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational the following week for the program's annual Spring Break trip. The Blue and Grey will face Widener Uinversity in a single game on February 27 before a doubleheader versus Calvin (Mich.) College on February 28. The Hounds also have single games with The University of Dubuque (Iowa) on March 1 and Waynesburg College on March 4 and a doubleheader with Concordia Moorhead (Minn.) College on March 3. The contests with Widener, Concordia Moorhead and Waynesburg will take place at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Florida while the Calvin and Dubuque games will be played at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, Florida.
Moravian returns to Pennsylvania to close out its season-opening, 12-game road trip with a contest at Neumann University on Tuesday, March 15. The Greyhounds make their 2022 debut at Gillespie Field on Thursday, March 17 when New Jersey City University comes to Bethlehem. Moravian then opens the 2022 Landmark Conference season with a three-game series versus Juniata College on Saturday and Sunday, March 19-20. All Landmark Conference series will include three nine-inning games this spring with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
The Blue and Grey head back out on the road for a non-conference contest at Alvernia University on Wednesday, March 23 before a Landmark Conference series at The University of Scranton on Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27. Moravian returns to Gillespie Field for a non-conference game with rival Muhlenberg College on Tuesday, March 29 before finishing the month with a non-conference contest at Keystone College on Thursday, March 31.
The Greyhounds open April with a five-game homestand including a non-conference doubleheader versus Albright College on Saturday, April 2 and a Landmark Conference series with The Catholic University of America on Saturday and Sunday, April 10. Moravian starts a string of five games in four days with a road trip to DeSales University on Wednesday, April 13 before returning home for a non-conference game with Rosemont College on Thursday, April 14 and a Landmark Conference series with Drew University on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16 at Gillespie Field. The series with the Rangers will see the single game played on Friday and the doubleheader on Saturday.
Moravian will play seven of its final eight games on the road beginning with a non-conference road contest at Penn State Abington on Wednesday, April 20 and a Landmark Conference series at Susquehanna University on Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24. The Greyhounds are scheduled for their final home game of the season on Tuesday, April 26 when Gwynedd Mercy University comes to Gillespie Field, and the Blue and Grey finish the regular season with a Landmark Conference series at Elizabethtown College on Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1.
The 2022 Landmark Conference Tournament is scheduled to be held May 13-15 at Scranton's turf field for a fifth consecutive year with a double-elimination format over the three days with the conference champion receiving an automatic berth to the 2022 NCAA Division III Tournament.
