MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian University sophomore pitcher David Ciaccio has been honored on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his performance last week.

Ciaccio helped the Greyhounds to a 1-0, three-hit shutout in his first appearance on the mound this season. Ciaccio started and was perfect through three innings. He would get out of a jam in the bottom of the fourth inning with a double play, and Ciaccio posted his fifth and final strikeout of the game followed by a ground out in the bottom of the seventh to work out of a bases loaded jam. Ciaccio faced a total of 25 batters in seven innings for the victory.

"David threw a great game on Sunday," stated Head Coach Paul Engelhardt. "For the first time out, he threw a lot of quality strikes, kept them off balance, and competed in the zone very effectively. His command and composure on the mound did not feel like the first game out this season for him. He works extremely hard in the off season, and we feel like he has a great opportunity to build off a very successful freshman year. If this first game was any indication, our team will benefit from David's work. Congrats to David. He would be the first to say thanks to his teammates."
