Fisher Selected as Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week

Mason Fisher rounds third base in a game versus Juniata College in the 2021 season at Gillespie Field.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior shortstop Mason Fisher has been selected as the first Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the 2022 season after his performance last week.

Fisher helped the Greyhounds to earn a win in the final contest of a season-opening three-game series at Hampden-Sydney (Va.) College this past weekend by hitting .462 during the three games to go with a .692 slugging percentage. Fisher was 6-for-13 at the plate and added a team-high six RBIs to go with three runs and a home run. He also had three putouts and eight assists in the field in 14 chances at shortstop. Fisher was 4-for-5 in the season-opener, a 12-11 loss, with five RBIs and his first career home run, and he hit safely in all three contests.

"Congratulations to Mason. He played great baseball all weekend," noted Head Coach Paul Engelhardt. "His approach at the plate this early on was very good. His work ethic on and off the field this year should serve him and our team well this season."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, February 22 in a non-conference game at Kean (N.J.) University beginning at 3:30 p.m.
