KINGSTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2022-23 season with an 8-1 victory at Wilkes University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the TK Academy.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds swept the three doubles matches to start the contest with a 3-0 edge. The duo of senior Kieran Pisani and freshman Matthew Labosky opened the scoring with an 8-1 victory at third doubles while sophomores Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer made it 2-0 with an 8-2 win at second doubles. Freshman Shayaan Farhad and sophomore Anthony Ronca finished the sweep with an 8-4 triumph at first doubles
- Moravian would take five of the six singles matches for the victory. Pimentel Ferrer was first off the courts with a 6-3, 6-3 win at fourth singles while sophomore Zachary Lebby had a winning team point with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at third singles. Farhad recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles while senior Andrew Hozza posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at fifth singles and Pisani had the final point with a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles
