Moravian Blanks Elizabethtown for First Landmark Conference Win of the Season

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis squad shutout host Elizabethtown College, 9-0, in Landmark Conference action Tuesday afternoon as the Greyhounds posted their first conference victory of the season.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds took all three doubles matches to move out to the 3-0 lead. senior Kieran Pisani and freshman Matthew Labosky opened the contest with an 8-0 victory at third doubles while sophomores Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrerwon by the same score at second doubles. The duo of sophomore Anthony Ronca and freshman Shayaan Farhad completed the sweep with an 8-2 triumph at first doubles
  • Moravian went on to sweep all six singles matches to earn the squad's tenth win of the season, the program's first 10-win season since 2018-19. Freshman Ryan Burke came off the courts first with a 7-0, 6-2 win at fourth singles while senior Aidan Evans-Gartley recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win at sixth singles to capture the winning team point. Sophomore Zachary Lebby made it 6-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at second singles while Farhad earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles. Sophomore Jesse Russo posted a 6-0, 7-5 victory at fifth singles while Pimentel Ferrer finished off the contest with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at third singles
  • The wins for Evans-Gartley, Burke and Russo were the first of their careers in Landmark Conference action
