Moravian Tops Susquehanna for First Time in Seven Years on the Road

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis squad defeated host Susquehanna University, 7-2, in Landmark Conference action Sunday afternoon to extend the team's winning streak to three matches. 

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds led 2-1 after the doubles action to start the contest. The sophomore duo of Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer opened the match with an 8-1 triumph at second doubles. The River Hawks countered with a win at third doubles before Moravian went ahead for good when sophomore Anthony Ronca and freshman Shayaan Farhad recorded an 8-7 (7-3) victory at first doubles
  • The Blue & Grey won five of the six singles contests. Ronca finished first with a 6-1, 6-1 win at second singles while Marshall made it 4-1 with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph at third singles. Farhad clinched the match with a 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 victory at first singles before Susquehanna picked up its second point at fourth singles. Senior Kieran Pisani earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at sixth singles while Pimentel Ferrer finished the contest with a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 triumph at fifth singles
  • The Hounds victory over the River Hawks was the first since April 16, 2016 when the Blue & Grey won 8-1 in Selinsgrove
