ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team remained unbeaten on the year as the Greyhounds topped Albion (Mich.) College, 5-4, at the United States Tennis Association National Training Center in Orlando Monday morning.
How It Happened
- The Hounds led 2-1 after the doubles action. The Britons scored the first points of the match with a win at third doubles before the tandem of sophomores Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer posted an 8-4 victory at second doubles to even the score. Sophomore Zachary Lebby and freshman Shayaan Farhad put the Blue & Grey in the lead for good with an 8-6 triumph at first doubles
- Freshman Matthew Labosky made the advantage 3-1 after a 6-2, 6-2 victory at sixth singles. Albion cut the score to 3-2 with a win at fifth singles before Lebby finished off a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at third singles. Moravian clinched the match when Marshall won in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. The Britons earned the final two points of the match with victories at first and fourth singles
- The Greyhounds have won nine straight matches to start the 2022-23 season, the best start in program history. The nine-match winning streak is the longest for Moravian since the spring of 1996 when the Hounds set a school record with 11 consecutive wins
