Greyhounds Sweep Penn State Brandywine for Fourth Straight Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team swept visiting Penn State Brandywine, 9-0, in non-conference action at Hoffman Courts Wednesday afternoon. 

How It Happened

  • The Hounds earned victories in all three doubles matches by 8-0 scores to build a 3-0 lead. Sophomores Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer bumped up a spot in the lineup to win at first doubles while senior Kieran Pisani and freshman Matthew Labosky also moved up a spot for a triumph at second doubles. Senior Justin Szaro and sophomore Jesse Russo earned the victory at third doubles for the first point of the match.
  • Pisani made it 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles while freshman Ryan Burke won by the same score at fifth singles for the winning team point. Senior Aidan Evans-Gartley posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at sixth singles while freshman Shayaan Farhad recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles. Rounding out the sweep were sophomore Anthony Ronca with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at second singles and sophomore Zachary Lebby with a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles
  • The team win was the program's 13th victory of the season, tying the school record for wins in a season with the Hounds' fifth 13-win season and third in the last nine years. Moravian began playing tennis in 1939
