Greyhounds Drop Tough Double-Overtime Match to Vassar College

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team played 109 minutes of scoreless action in its 2019 season opener versus Vassar (N.Y.) College on John Makuvek Field Friday night but with just 51 seconds left, the Brewers found the back of the net to hand the Greyhounds a 1-0 double-overtime setback to begin the year.

The Hounds had the first two shots of the match when senior Juliana Caranci fired a pair of shots on the keeper in a span of three and a half minutes during the first 11 minutes of play. The Greyhounds finished with 11 shots in the match including seven on goal.

Moravian senior goalie Jamie Daly made the start and had two saves in 45 minutes of action while junior keeper Siobhan O'Sullivan-Evangelista made five saves in just over 64 minutes in goal.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 4 when the squad hosts Stockton (N.J.) University in a non-conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
