Paige Weiss named to United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Moravian College senior defender Paige Weiss has been honored on the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Division III Women's Soccer All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team.

Weiss is the 13th Greyhound to earn United Soccer Coaches (formerly the National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors, and the program has had a total of 20 All-Region honorees. Weiss is also one of seven student-athletes from the Landmark Conference to be named to the All-Region Teams this fall.

Weiss helped the Greyhounds to a 7-7-1 overall mark in 2019, and she helped Moravian to a 35-25-5 record and two postseason appearances in her career.

Weiss, who selected to the 2019 Landmark All-Conference First Team, topped the Greyhounds in scoring this season with six goals including four game-winning goals. Weiss, who was also the 2016 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and was on the All-Conference Second Team in 2017 and 2018, completed her career with 12 goals in 64 career matches including 63 starts, and she contributed five game-winning goals. Defensively, Weiss helped Moravian post 27 shutouts over the last four falls.

"We are all very excited for Paige and this honor is well deserved," stated sixth-year Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "This is a great way to cap off an amazing playing career. She joins an elite group of players that have been named to this team. Paige demonstrated throughout her career the necessary intensity and desire needed to be successful. She was dominant in the air and was a very physical defender. She often times was matched up with some of the top forwards in the conference and would shut them down. Her leadership will also be missed. She served as a captain for the past two seasons and we have big shoes to fill on and off the field."
