BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer squad rallied from a 1-0 deficit to post a 2-1 victory over visiting Albright College in non-conference action under the lights of John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.

The Lions opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a goal on a corner kick. The Greyhounds, now 4-2 this fall, answered in the 37th minute when junior defender Sara Cassel netted her second goal of the season. Sophomore forward Megan Chesney took a corner kick that was knocked down by the Albright goalie and was loose in the six-yard box before Cassel put it in the back of the net.

The Blue and Grey moved in front in the 54th minute when senior defender Paige Weiss headed in her third goal of the fall on a corner kick taken by Chesney. Moravian would keep the Lions away from the net for the rest of the match.

"The team really worked hard," commented Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "I think we were a little frustrated on how we came out. We've been playing a lot of really good teams, so we haven't been as combative in out practices and it showed a little bit to start. We've to start scoring in the flow of the play. We've been telling our forwards that if they can't get it on goal to get a corner kick because Paige and Sara keep scoring set piece goals. We'll go with what is working but we'll eventually need more offense."

Senior goalie Jamie Daly made the start for Moravian and had one save in the opening 45 minutes of action. Junior keeper Siobhan O'Sullivan-Evangelista played the second half and had one save to improve to 3-1 on the season.

The Greyhounds are slated to hosted Misericordia University in a battle of regionally ranked teams on Saturday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field. Moravian is currently ranked tenth in the United Soccer Coaches Mid-Atlantic Region rankings while Misericordia is ranked fifth.
