BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout victory over visiting Stockton (N.J.) University on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.

The Greyhounds, now 1-1 on the year, held control of the play for the first five minutes of the match before the teams settled into a defensive battle that ended the first half with the match still scoreless. The second half began much the same way before the Hounds would get the contest's only goal in the 69th minute. With a foul called just in front of the far corner flag, sophomore defender Amanda Meinster lined up over the ball and delivered a volley into the middle of the 18-yard box. Just outside the six-yard box, senior defender Paige Weiss worked herself open and headed the pass from Meinster into the back of the net for her eighth career goal and second game-winner.

Moravian's goalie tandem of senior Jamie Daly and junior Siobhan O'Sullivan-Evangelista combined on the shutout with each keeper making two saves in 45 minutes of action.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to the pitch on Saturday, September 7 when the squad heads to The College of New Jersey for a non-conference contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
