Women's Tennis Tops Muhlenberg, 5-4

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team won three singles matches and a pair of doubles contests to earn a 5-4 victory over rival Muhlenberg College Thursday afternoon at Hoffman Courts.

The Greyhounds, now 2-0 on the season, had a 2-1 lead after doubles action with senior Chelsea Ott and junior Erica Venuti earning an 8-2 win at first doubles and freshman Brittany Hodge and Courtnie Lambert posting an 8-3 victory at third doubles.

Ott gave Moravian a 4-2 lead with a straight sets win, 6-0, 6-0, at first singles.  The Greyhounds would clinch the victory with a three-set victory by Hodge at fourth singles (6-1, 4-6, 6-0) and a three-set win from Lambert at fifth singles (5-7, 6-4, 6-4).

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 15th in a non-conference match at King's College starting at 1:00 p.m.
