Women's Tennis Tops King's to Remain Undefeated

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team remained undefeated in 2012-13 with its third straight victory, posting an 8-1 non-conference victory at King's College Saturday.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matches in the contest.  Senior Chelsea Ott and junior Erica Venuti had an 8-2 win at first doubles while junior Olivia Sonnabend and sophomore Melissa Follett earned an 8-5 victory at second doubles.  Freshmen Brittany Hodge and Courtnie Lambert had an 8-0 shutout at third doubles.

In singles action, Moravian would get straight sets wins from Ott at first singles (6-0, 6-0), Follett at second singles (6-4, 6-2), Venuti at third singles (6-2, 6-3), Hodge at fouth singles (6-4, 6-4) and Lambert at fifth singles (6-1, 6-1).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday September 22nd in the opening day of the 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional being hosted by the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
