Follett, Venuti & Zien Named to Landmark All-Conference Women's Tennis Teams

TOWSON, Md. --- Sophomore Melissa Follett of the Moravian College women's tennis team has been named to the 2013 Landmark Women's Tennis All-Conference First Team in both singles and doubles while junior Erica Venuti made the All-Conference First Team in doubles and junior Katie Zien was an All-Conference Second Team honoree in singles.

The trio helped the Greyhounds to a 10-3 mark this season, and Moravian was 3-3 in Landmark Conference action just missing the Landmark Conference Tournament after finishing the regular season tied for fourth in the standings.

In her first season with the Greyhounds, Follett had an 11-5 record in singles action including a 7-2 slate at first singles this spring. Follett was also 5-1 in Landmark Conference matches during the season.

Follett and Venuti posted a 9-3 mark in doubles action with a 7-2 slate as Moravian's top doubles team and a 4-2 record in Landmark matches. Venuti, who was 10-9 in singles action and 7-6 at third singles, earns All-Conference honors for the second straight season after being on the All-Conference Second Team in doubles in 2012.

Zien missed the fall portion of the season while studying abroad but she returned this spring to post a 6-3 record at second singles with a 3-3 mark in Landmark matches. Zien, who was on the All-Conference First Team in doubles last year, also had a 6-3 record in doubles this season, and Zien has a career singles mark of 28-17 for the Greyhounds.
