Women's Tennis Improves to 7-0 with Win over Ursinus

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis remained undefeated on the year at 7-0, defeating Ursinus College, 6-3, in non-conference action Friday at Hoffman Courts.

The Greyhounds swept the doubles action to build a 3-0 lead. Sophomore Melissa Follett and junior Erica Venuti posted a win at first doubles while juniors Olivia Sonnabend and Katie Zien earned a victory at second doubles. Freshman Brittany Hodge and Courtnie Lambert combined for the win at third doubles.

Moravian then won three of the six singles matches to improve to 4-0 at Hoffman Courts this season in their first home match of the spring. Follett posted a straight sets win at first singles while Zien earned a three-set victory at second singles. Hodge added a straight sets win at fourth singles.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to open their 2013 Landmark Conference season on Saturday, March 16th in a match versus Goucher College that will begin at 5:00 p.m. inside at the Bare Hills Racquet Club in Baltimore.
