Women's Tennis Stays Perfect with 6-3 Win at Randolph-Macon

ASHLAND, Va. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team remained undefeated with its sixth win of the season as the Greyhounds posted a 6-3 non-conference win at Randolph-Macon College Monday.

The Greyhounds swept the doubles action for a 3-0 lead. Sophomore Melissa Follett and junior Erica Venuti earned an 8-6 win at first doubles while juniors Olivia Sonnabend and Katie Zien won by injury retirement at second doubles. The duo of freshmen Brittany Hodge and Courtnie Lambert had an 8-1 victory at third doubles.

Moravian won three of the singles matches to collect the victory. Zien won in straight sets at second singles while Hodge had a straight sets victory at fourth singles. Sonnabend completed the match with a three-set win at sixth singles.

The Greyhounds were scheduled to complete their Spring Break trip to Virginia on Wednesday, March 6th with a match at Mary Baldwin College but that match has been cancelled due to the impending winter storm in Virginia. Moravian will now return to action when the squad hosts Ursinus College in a non-conference match at Hoffman Courts on Thursday, March 14th beginning at 4:00 p.m.
