Hounds Fall to Drew in 2023 Landmark Conference Opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis squad fell to Drew University, 7-2, in the 2023 Landmark Conference opener at Hoffman Courts Saturday.

How It Happened

  • The Rangers swept the doubles action to take a 3-0 lead. Seniors Maddie Figiel and Cristina Merone had the closest doubles match, dropping an 8-6 decision at second doubles
  • Drew took the first two singles contests to finish before Figiel earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at second singles. Moravian earned its other point at sixth singles when sophomore Rose Lombardo posted a 4-6, 6-2, 10-1 win. Junior Mara Stapleton would also go to three sets at fifth singles
