ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- The Moravian University men's indoor track & field squad placed seventh of 11 teams in the Nazareth (N.Y.) Conference Challenge Cup with 28 points Saturday.
Event Winners
- Graduate student Shane Mastro set both meet and facility records as he won the shot put with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying distance of 14.93 meters (48-11.75) to earn 10 points for the Hounds
Top 8 Scoring Finishes
- Junior Dan Jenkins earned five points for a fourth-place finish in the 35-pound weight throw with an AARTF qualifying distance of 15.71 meters (51-6.5), the sixth-best distance in school history. Mastro added four points as he placed fifth at 14.78 meter (48-6) and senior Tim King garnered three points as he took sixth with a mark of 14.75 meters (48-4.75)
- King was also eighth in the shot put with a distance of 12.81 meters (42-0.5) to pick up one point
- Freshman Trevor Gray was fourth in the finals of the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.18 seconds, tying his PR and earning five points. Gray had the second fastest qualifying time, winning his heat in 7.20 seconds
PR Distances/Times
- Sophomore Derek Mason registered a PR of 12.67 meters (41-7) in the 35-pound weight throw as he finished 18th
