INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian University men's track & field team has had graduate student Shane Mastro selected as part of the field for the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships that will be hosted by University of Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio from May 26-28.
Mastro, who is making his first trip to the NCAA Championships, is slated to compete in the preliminaries of the shot put on Friday, May 27 at 11:30 a.m. with the top nine making the finals to immediately follow the preliminary rounds. Mastro set a school record on May 14 with a toss of 16.11 meters (53-10.25) at the Princeton University Elite Invitational, which was the 15th qualifying spot and is also the second farthest throw in the Metro Region this season.
