Greyhounds Earn Ten PRs at Fasttrack Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- The Moravian University men's indoor track & field squad posted ten PR distances and times in the Fasttrack Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Complex Friday. 

Top 10 Finishes

  • Junior Dan Jenkins was the runner-up in the 35-pound weight throw with an All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field qualifying toss of 15.74 meters (51-7.75), the sixth-best mark in school history while senior Tim King finished seventh at 14.88 meters (48-10)
  • Graduate student Shane Mastro took sixth in the shot put with an AARTF qualifying distance of 15.13 meters (49-7.75), the tenth-best mark in program history
  • Freshman Nathan Hajel finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a PR time of 15:47.76, an improvement of 16 seconds while sophomore Josh Mangini was eighth in a PR of 16:00.19, improving by five seconds
  • Senior Shane Houghton was third in the 3,000-meter run with a PR and AARTF qualifying time of 8:38.08, surpassing his previous best by 16 seconds and the third fastest time in school history
  • Freshman Trevor Gray was ninth in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.25 seconds
  • The Greyhounds' 4,000-meter distance meter relay squad of Houghton, graduate student Peter Gingrich and seniors Dominic DeRafelo and Brad Clemson finished third with an AARTF qualifying time of 10:32.39, the third-best time in the event in program history

PR Distances/Times

  • Freshman Owen Nahf recorded a PR of 8:50.16 in the 3,000-meter run, bettering his previous mark by 24 seconds and runnung the ninth fastest time in school history, while junior Liam Duffy improved by 25 seconds for a new PR of 8:56.01 and sophomore Casey Frank had a PR time of 9:17.28, improving by nine seconds
  • Junior Christian Jancsarics recorded a PR of 4:58.0 in the mile run
  • DeRafelo ran an indoor PR time of 1:58.62 in the 800-meter run while Gingrich had an AARTF qualifying time of 1:58.15 in the race
  • Gray ran a PR time of 23.79 seconds in the 200-meter dash while sophomore Jared Santos added a PR time of 24.03 seconds in the race
