ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's outdoor track & field squad finished fourth of nine teams with 85.5 points at the Muhlenberg College Invitational Saturday.
Event Winners
- Graduate student Shane Mastro won the discus with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying distance of 45.80 meters (150-03)
Top 10 Results
- Senior Shane Houghton took second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in an AARTF qualifying time of 9:42.52 while freshman Jake Farrell was seventh in the race in 10:20.14
- Senior Dominic DeRafelo was the runner-up in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:03.61, and he was followed by freshman Owen Nahf in fourth at 4:08.30 and junior Liam Duffy in sixth in 4:09.06
- Freshman Trevor Gray was second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.20 seconds while sophomore Matt Shea was ninth in 11.61 seconds
- Gray also took fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.09 seconds while sophomore Jared Santos finished sixth in 23.30 seconds
- Freshman Geoffrey Kleinberg placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 52.53 seconds while Santos took eighth in 52.95 seconds
- Graduate student Peter Gingrich placed third in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:58.95 while sophomore Casey Frank was sixth in 2:01.52 and sophomore Paul Petre finished ninth in 2:03.34
- Senior Michael Lerch was tenth in the 5,000-meter run on a time of 16:39.37
- Freshman Joe Tivade was eighth in the 110-meter hurdles in 18.67 seconds while freshman Jason Gartner took tenth in 18.94 seconds
- Gartner was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.45 while Tivade placed eighth in 1:03.02
- The Greyhounds had three teams race in the 4x400-meter relay. The "A" team of Gingrich, Farrell, Frank and freshman Wyatt Poniktera took sixth in 3:37.19 while the "B" squad of DeRafelo, Duffy, senior Brad Clemson and sophomore Brendon Ward was one spot back in 3:37.22. The "C" team of Lerch, Kleinberg, Petre and freshman Nathan Hajel took eighth in 3:40.83
- Senior Tim King placed fifth in the discus with an AARTF qualifying mark of 42.49 meters () while junior Dan Jenkins finished seventh at 40.52 meters (132-11)
- Senior Max Schuman was fifth in the pole vault at a height of 4.10 meters (13-05.25)
