Hounds Earn Draw with Catholic to Begin the 2024 Landmark Conference Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw versus The Catholic University of America to begin the 2024 Landmark Conference season on a rainy John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon. 

How It Happened

  • The squads played a scoreless first half with the Cardinals holding a 4-2 advantage in shots in the opening 45 minutes
  • Neither team found the net in the second half with Catholic posting a 6-3 edge in shots. Moravian did have a 4-0 edge in corner kicks over the final 45 minutes

Inside the Numbers

  • Graduate student goalie Riley Spingler recorded five saves for her fifth shutout of the season
  • The Hounds have seven shutouts this fall in nine matches, allowing just four goals all year
