BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team has earned the sixth seed in the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament and will travel to third seed Elizabethtown College in a first round match on Tuesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Admission to Tuesday's match is $10 for adults and $5 for minors ages 10-17. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID.
For the second straight year, the Landmark Conference Tournament features six teams with the top two seeds earning first round byes. The winner of the Moravian/Elizabethtown match will travel to second seed Lycoming College for a semifinal match on Thursday, November 7. Tuesday's other first round contest has fourth seed Drew University hosting fifth seed The Catholic University of America at 7:00 p.m., and the winner of that match will head to top seed No. 14 The University of Scranton for the other semifinal contest on November 7. The 2024 Landmark Conference Championships match is set for Saturday, November 9 at the highest remaining seed for the conference title and a berth to the 2024 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
The Greyhounds, who are 8-4-6 overall and were 3-2-4 in the Landmark Conference regular season, are under led by 11th-year Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk, who has guided Moravian to the postseason for the second straight fall and for the sixth time since his tenure began in 2014.
Senior forward Carly Pyatt has netted six goals and added three assists to lead the Greyhounds in scoring while senior midfielder Kylie Hughes, senior midfielder Chelsea Meltzer and junior forward Elliot Rupp have all scored two goals and one assist this fall. Senior defender Hailey Scaff and senior midfielder Sydney DeFranco both have a goal and an assist while senior midfielder Taylor Yoder and junior forward Colby Roach have scored one goal and junior defender Grace Blenis has one assist.
Senior defender Cori Pursel and sophomore midfielder/defender Casey Sabolsky had both seen action in all 18 matches this fall for the Greyhounds while sophomore defender Reagan Bleiler and senior midfielder Natalie Reilly both have played in 16 contests. Sophomore defender Jenna Castaldo and freshman midfielder/forward Mackenzie Schreiber have been on the pitch for 15 contests while senior midfielder Anika Buzzy started six matches before an injury sidelined her for the season.
Graduate student goalie Riley Spingler has made 53 saves to go with a 5-4-5 record, a 0.55 GAA and nine shutouts in 1,305 minutes while sophomore goalie Caitlyn Philips has added 11 saves, a 3-0-1 mark and two shutouts in 315 minutes of action. The duo has combined for another shutout.
The Hounds and Blue Jays played to a scoreless draw when the squads met at Elizabethtown on October 23 during the regular season.
