TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University graduate student goalie Riley Spingler has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Spingler recorded a pair of shutouts and recorded seven saves as Moravian posted a pair of scoreless draws in Landmark Conference action during the week. She had three saves at Goucher College last Wednesday before making four stops versus Lycoming College this past Saturday on Senior Day. Spingler earned her second Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week honor in the last three weeks, and she has not allowed a goal in her last 425 minutes of action.
"Riley had another outstanding week in goal for us," noted Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "Over the weekend, she made some very important saves on set pieces and corner kicks. She continues to contribute as a leader and helps keep our backline organized."
The Hounds are slated to return to action on Wednesday, October 16 when the team hosts Drew University in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
