BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad broke a scoreless tie late in the second half as the Greyhounds blanked visiting the United States Coast Guard Academy, 1-0, Sunday afternoon on John Makuvek Field as the Hounds improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2005 with their fourth consecutive shutout.

How It Happened

  • The teams played a scoreless first half with the Bears putting three shots on goal
  • The Blue & Grey put the only shot of the match in the net in the 78th minute as senior forward Carly Pyatt took a long shot from the right corner of the 18-yard box and put it in the left side of the box

Inside the Numbers

  • Pyatt's goal was her second of the season and ninth of her career. She has been involved in five of Moravian's six goals this season
  • Sophomore goalie Caitlyn Philips made her first career start in the net for the Hounds, and she recorded five saves in the shutout
  • Moravian held a 15-9 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks
  • The Greyhounds are 4-0 for the first time since 2005. Moravian's 2017 team had a seven-match unbeaten streak to start the year; however, the opening match that fall was a tie before six consecutive victories. The 2017 squad posted shutouts in those first seven matches and did not allow a goal in the first 701 minutes of the season
