Six Greyhounds Named College Sports Communicators Women’s Soccer Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University seniors defender Kylie Hughes, defender Cori Pursel, forward Carly Pyatt and defender Hailey Scaff, junior forward Elliot Rupp and sophomore defender Reagan Bleiler have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve that has played in 90 percent of the team's contest or started 66 percent of the team's games in 2024. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The CSC Academic All-America® teams will be announced Wednesday, December 11.

The group helped the Greyhounds to a 9-5-6 overall mark this year, and the team was 3-2-4 in Landmark Conference action to earn the sixth seed in the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament where the squad won its first round match. The Hounds posted 13 shutouts in 20 matches in 2024.

Hughes, a biochemistry major with a 3.97 grade-point average, played in all 20 matches this season with 19 starts while contributing two goals and an assist. In four years, Hughes played in 69 contests with 66 starts and had five goals and three assists for the Hounds. She earned a spot on the 2022 and 2024 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Pursel, an economics-finance major and communications and media studies minor with a 3.87 grade-point average, was part of the Greyhounds defense that allowed just 11 goals in 20 matches this fall. She scored one goal in 68 career matches. Pursel was honored on the 2023 Landmark All-Conference Second Team, and she earned a spot on the 2022 and 2023 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Pyatt, a communications sciences and disorders major with a 3.80 grade-point average, led the Greyhounds in scoring in 2024 as she netted seven goals and added three assists. Pyatt was selected to the 2023 and 2024 Landmark All-Conference Second Team, and she was a member of the 2022 and 2023 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. Pyatt registered 14 goals and four assists in her career with six game-winning goals including four in 2024 in 68 career matches with 53 starts.

Scaff, an early childhood and special education major with a 3.92 grade-point average, added a goal and an assist this fall. Scaff also anchored the Moravian defense that recorded 13 shutouts and allowed just 0.55 goals per match. She was named the 2023 and 2024 Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team in both 2023 and 2024. In her career as a four-year starter, Scaff has two goals and three assists, and she was a member of the 2022 and 2023 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Rupp, a health sciences and pre-physical therapy major  with a 3.91 grade-point average, contributed two goals and an assist this year while seeing action in 19 contests with three starts. She has four goals and an assist in 48 career contests. Rupp was a member of the 2023 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Bleiler, an early childhood and special education major with a 3.87 grade-point average, started 16 of the 18 contests she played this fall as part of the Greyhounds' defense. In two seasons, Bleiler has started 31 of 34 matches and contributed a pair of assists.
