SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team topped host Susquehanna University, 2-1, in Landmark Conference action on the road Saturday.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 just 1:50 into the match as senior midfielder Chelsea Meltzer took a corner kick from the right side of the field that bounced in the middle of the six-yard box and into the left side of the goal
- The River Hawks countered in the 16th minute to knot the score at 1-1
- The Hounds moved back ahead, 2-1, in the 39th minute as senior forward Carly Pyatt directed a corner kick from Meltzer into the net
- Neither squad scored during the remainder of the contest
Inside the Numbers
- Meltzer netted her second goal of the season and the fifth of her career, and she also earned her first assist of 2024 and fourth of her Moravian career
- Pyatt recorded her team-leading sixth goal of the year and the 13th of her career
- Graduate student goalie Riley Spingler registered one save, which came late in the second half as the River Hawks looked to tie the contest
- The Hounds had a 10-8 edge in shots and a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks
