TOWSON, Md. --- The 2019-20 Moravian College women’s indoor track and field squad has been selected first in the Landmark Conference preseason poll as chosen by the Landmark coaches.

The Hounds return 30 competitors from last winter’s Landmark Conference Championship team as well as bringing in 14 new student-athletes. The Greyhounds had a total of 60 points, 15 more than Elizabethtown College, and the Blue and Grey collected six first-place votes. Moravian is looking win its third straight as the Landmark Conference Indoor Champions after returning to the top of the podium in 2018, and the program has captured 11 of 12 possible Landmark Conference Indoor titles.

Head Coach Jesse Baumann begins his ninth season with a strong group of returners that includes five student-athletes that earned All-Conference honors last February. Senior Carly Danoski won a pair of titles while sophomore Natalie Stabilito was the 2019 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. Juniors Morgan Weaver, Natalie Novotni and Camaryn Wheeler also garnered All-Conference accolades last year.

“To be honest, we do have pretty high hopes for the women this year,” stated Baumann. “I feel we’re pretty balanced across the board with some good new throwers that came in, depth in the distances and jumps, and a lot of exciting potential in the sprints. We have a few newcomers coupled with some veterans like Carly Danoski who I think have legitimate shots to be at indoor NCAAs in March, so I feel we can be somewhat successful on both the Landmark and possibly even national stage. With that said, it’s nothing but potential on paper at this time of the year so we need to work hard, especially in the month-long-break coming up.”

Moravian is slated to start the season at Lehigh University Opener on Saturday, December 7.
