Moravian Drops Non-Conference Match to DeSales in Johnston Hall

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team fell to DeSales University, 3-0, in non-conference action in Johnston Hall Tuesday evening.

The Greyhounds dropped the sets by scores of 25-14, 25-11 and 25-13 in the contest. Sophomore middle blocker Jess Appleton led the Hounds with four kills while sophomore middle blocker Renee Mapa added three kills and three blocks. Freshman defensive specialist/outside hitter Gabby Mancini led Moravian with 12 digs while freshman defensive specialist Gabby Mineo added 10 digs. Freshman setter Natalia Matos had five assists and seven digs while senior setter Victoria Kauffman added four assists and a pair of digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Kirah Dreisbach contributed seven digs and two kills while sophomore outside hitter Sela Herber added five digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Ally Locy had four digs while senior defensive specialist Alexis Szaro had a pair of digs.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Friday, September 13 with a pair of matches on the opening day of the Kean University Invitational as the Blue and Grey play the host Cougars at 6:00 p.m. and New York University at 8:00 p.m.
