Moravian Sweeps Hood (Md.) College at Knights Invitational

ASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team completed its trip to the Knights Invitational hosted by Neumann University Saturday morning with a 3-0 sweep of Hood (Md.) College.

The Greyhounds, who have won three straight contests, took the three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-16. Sophomore middle blocker Jess Appleton led the Hounds with 10 kills while sophomore outside hitter Sela Herber had eight kills and three digs. Sophomore middle blocker Renee Mapa, who was selected to the All-Tournament Team, contributed seven kills while sophomore outside hitter Kirah Dreisbach had four kills to go along with 16 digs and three service aces. Junior right side hitter Emerson Gieryic added three kills and a pair of blocks while senior setter Victoria Kauffman had 18 assists, four digs, three service aces and a pair of kills. Freshman setter Taylor Morley contributed 11 assists and two service aces while freshman setter Natalia Matos had three digs.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 25 when the squad hosts Cedar Crest College at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall as the Greyhounds hold their annual Gold Out for Pediatric Cancer event.
