BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad fell to visiting Swarthmore College, 2-0, in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened
- The squads played a scoreless first quarter of the contest. The Garnet would take a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute on a penalty corner, and Swarthmore doubled the advantage just a minute later off of another penalty corner
- Neither team was able to find the cage in the third quarter as the score remained 2-0 for Swarthmore through 45 minutes of action. Both squads were scoreless in the fourth quarter as well
Inside the Numbers
- Senior goalie Brooke Wilkinson posted 11 saves in the match as the Greyhounds were outshot 23-4
- Junior defender Onalee Long registered a defensive save for Moravian, her first defensive save of the season and the fifth of her career
- Swarthmore also had a 13-1 edge in penalty corners
