GILBERT, Ariz. --- Seventeen student-athletes from the Moravian University field hockey team have been selected to the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad sponsored by OPA Winning Teams while senior Brooke Wilkinson, junior Bekkah Kehoe, sophomore Savannah Sutter and freshmen Megan Felmly and Brooke Sodl were named as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction.

Moravian was also one of 59 NCAA Division III schools to earn the honor of being named a NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award winner for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Greyhounds were joined on the National Academic Team list by Landmark Conference opponent - Drew University. The eight Landmark Conference schools combined to have 81 student-athletes named to the National Academic Squad and 17 Scholars of Distinction.

"We are extremely proud to have 17 members of our team named to the 2022 Division III National Academic Squad," commented Head Coach Sarah Dalrymple. "It is incredibly rewarding to not only watch our student-athletes succeed on the field but also excel in the classroom."

The quintet were joined by seniors Maddie Call, Mackenzie Jakobsen, Elise Keeney and Emily Wells, juniors Sarah Bietka, Hanna Leto and Maria Tice, sophomores Sydney Anderson, Lexi Dinsmore and Alaina Schmid and freshmen Carolina Catilao-Sanchez and Jessica Knox as the Greyhounds named to the National Academic Squad, which includes more than 1,700 student-athletes from 157 schools. To be named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year. Jakobsen, Keeney, Wells and Wilkinson were all four-year selections to the National Academic Squad.

Kehoe earned Scholar of Distinction honors for the third time in her career while Wilkinson, Sutter, Felmly and Sodl all received the honor for the first time. The Scholar of Distinction is given to student-athletes that have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year. This year, there are more than 470 student-athletes that earned Scholar of Distinction.

"We are especially proud of our five Scholars of Distinction," noted Dalrymple. "They should be extremely proud of themselves for being named to this list. They push themselves both on the field and in the classroom every day while representing Moravian Field Hockey with pride."
