Moravian Women Record Seven Top-Five Finishes at Lehigh Mountain Hawk Opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's indoor track & field team recorded seven top five finishes and had a pair of All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks on the second day of the Lehigh University Mountain Hawk Opener Saturday at Rauch Fieldhouse.

Moravian Top 5/Finals Results

  • Junior Abby Giamoni was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.56 seconds
  • Junior Mikayla Woodring placed second in the shot put with a toss of 11.22 meters (36-9.75) while sophomore Margie Rayne took third at 10.83 meters (35-6.5) and junior Arin Peykar was fourth with a distance of 10.35 meters (33-11-5)
  • Giamoni finished third in the 60-meter dash finals in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 8.02 seconds, matching the time she ran in the preliminaries
  • Sophomore Ali Haefele was third in the triple jump with a distance of 10.45 meters (34-3.5)
  • Graduate student Jocelynn Itterly tied for third in the high jump at an AARTFC qualifying height of 1.57 meters (5-1.75) 

Moravian Finishers

  • Freshman Rachele Grigoli finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.43 seconds while sophomore Shai Knight was 16th at 29.69 seconds. Junior Bella DeMassa placed 24th in a time of 31.37 seconds while junior Ashley Rodrigues took 29th at 31.37 seconds
  • Junior Caillie Fish placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 9.84 meters (32-3.5) while sophomore Karalyn Vashey took tenth at 9.41 meters (30-10.5). Sophomore Heather Adams finished with a mark of 9.06 meters (29-8.75) while junior Liz Miskovsky placed 14th at 8.91 meters (29-2.75)  
  • Sophomore Elena Bocchetti placed sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:30.85
  • DeMassa was 11th in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries in a time of 10.49 seconds while Rodrigues took 16th at 11.00 seconds
  • Grigoli finished 17th in the 60-meter meter dash preliminaries while Knight was 17th in 8.71 seconds. Haefele placed 28th in a time of 9.07 seconds while sophomore Caroline Melillo took 29th at 9.12 seconds
