Hounds Win Two More Events on Second Day of Stockton Osprey Open

GALLOWAY, N.J. --- The Moravian University women's outdoor track & field squad won two more events on the second day of the Stockton University Osprey Open Saturday. 

Moravian Event Winners

  • Sophomore Tara Smurla captured the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:53.88
  • Senior Lexi Groff won the high jump at an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying height of 1.60 meters (5-3) 

Moravian Top 10 Finishers

  • Junior Abby Giamoni was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.81 seconds while sophomore Shai Knight took sixth in 27.47 seconds and freshman Rachele Grigoli was seventh at 27.58 seconds
  • The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad of Giamoni, Groff, Grigoli and Knight took second in a time of 50.51 seconds
  • The Hounds 4x400-meter relay team of Giamoni, Grigoli, Knight and junior Ashley Rodrigues was second in a time of 4:14.97
  • Smurla was third in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:25.60 while sophomore Elena Bocchetti was sixth in 2:28.28 and junior Hannah Kolonoski took ninth in 2:41.07
  • Junior Bella DeMassa was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.02 seconds while sophomore Makenna Mersch took seventh in 18.92 seconds
  • DeMassa was also fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:13.38 while Mersch finished seventh in 1:16.19
  • Junior Rachael Goodman placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:09.44 while sophomore Tori Champagne finished eighth at 5:21.93, freshman Alyssa Hockenberry was ninth in 5:22.09 and freshman Alexis Hockenberry placed tenth in 5:22.41
  • Junior Rylie Murphy placed eighth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.23 while junior Lexi Rushatz was ninth in 1:04.99
  • Sophomore Ali Haefele finished third in the high jump at 1.52 meters (4-11.75) while sophomore Caroline Melillo was seventh at 1.32 meters (4-4)
  • Haefele also placed third in the long jump at 5.01 meters (16-5.25)
  • Junior Arin Peykar took third in the shot put with a toss of 10.45 meters (34-3.5) while sophomore Karalyn Vashey finished seventh at 9.56 meters (31-4.5)
  • Junior Caillie Fish was third in the discus with a toss of 34.12 meters (111-11) while Vashey placed fifth at 31.36 meters (102-11)
