Greyhounds Compete at John & Carol Covert Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's outdoor track & field team competed in the John & Carol Covert Classic at Lehigh University Saturday in the final tune-up for the Landmark Conference Championships.

Moravian Top 10 Finishers

  • Senior Lexi Groff placed third in the high jump at an All-Atlantic Conference Track & Field Conference qualifying height of 1.62 meters (5-3.75)
  • Sophomore Karalyn Vashey was fourth in the discus with a toss of 35.47 meters (116-4) while sophomore Heather Adams took fifth at 34.17 meters (112-1) and freshman Skylar Marso was ninth at 30.35 meters (99-7)
  • Junior Abby McClaskey finished fifth in the javelin on Friday with a toss of 34.65 meters (113-8) while junior Liz Miskovsky took sixth at 30.48 meters (100-0)
  • Vashey also placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 11.26 meters (36-11.5)
  • Junior Bella DeMassa finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.94 seconds while sophomore Makenna Mersch was ninth at 19.04 seconds
  • Freshman Alexis Hockenberry took sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:34.14 while freshman Alyssa Hockenberry finished seventh in 19:44.84
  • DeMassa was also seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:12.16 while Mersch placed ninth in 1:16.21
  • Junior Caillie Fish was eighth in the hammer throw on Friday with a mark of 44.03 meters (144-5)
  • Junior Rylie Murphy placed ninth in the 800-meter run at 2:25.35
