ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's outdoor track & field squad captured one event title on the opening day of the 2024 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships being hosted by Elizabethtown College Saturday. The Hounds are in second place after six events have been scored.
Moravian Event Winners
- Sophomore Tara Smurla won the 10,000-meter run with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 38:25.49 to earn ten points
Moravian Top 8 Finishers
- Junior Caillie Fish was the runner-up in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.05 meters (141-3) to earn eight points while junior Liz Miskovsky had a PR toss of 40.42 meters (132-7) to finish fifth and garner four points and sophomore Karalyn Vashey posted a PR distance of 40.03 meters (131-4) for sixth place and three points
- Senior Vicky Donovan finished third in the javelin with the toss of 33.55 meters (110-1)
- Sophomore Ali Haefele placed fourth in the long jump with a PR distance of 5.27 meters (17-0.5) to garner five points
- Sophomore Tori Champagne was fourth in the 10,000-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying and PR time of 39:39.26 for five points while junior Ally Meeks scored two points for a seventh place finish in a PR time of 40:20.58
- In preliminary action, junior Abby Giamoni was second in the 200-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 26.14 seconds
