Hounds Win Seven Events in Tri-Meet with Desales and Muhlenberg

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's outdoor track & field squad won seven events in a tri-meet at DeSales University with Muhlenberg College Saturday.

Moravian Event Winners

  • Sophomore Elena Bocchetti won the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:22.00
  • Sophomore Margie Rayne captured first in the shot put with a toss of 10.80 meters (35-5.25)
  • Junior Abby Giamoni took first in the 400-meter dash in 59.42 seconds
  • Giamoni also won the 100-meter dash in 12.85 seconds
  • Senior Vicky Donovan won the javelin throw at an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying distance of 37.72 meters (123-9)
  • Senior Lexi Groff took first in the 200-meter dash in 27.10 seconds
  • The Hounds "A" 4x400-meter relay squad of Bocchetti, junior Lexi Rushatz, junior Hannah Kolonoski and freshman Kierstyn Klinger won in a time of 4:49.84

Moravian Top 10 Finishers

  • Sophomore Ali Haefele was the runner-up in the triple jump at 10.82 meters (35-6)
  • Rushatz finished second in the 1,500-meter run in 5:23.22 while freshman Alexis Hockenberry took fourth in 5:24.31, junior Rylie Murphy placed sixth at 5:31.14, senior Pia Mazzella DiBosco was seventh in a time of 5:36.60, freshman Alyssa Hockenberry finished ninth in 5:38.47 and Klinger took tenth at 5:40.87
  • Junior Caillie Fish was the runner-up in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.70 meters (133-6) while junior Liz Miskovsky finished third with a PR toss of 39.54 (129-8), junior Mikayla Woodring placed fourth at 38.10 meters (125-0), sophomore Karalyn Vashey took fifth with a distance of 36.39 meters (119-4), sophomore Heather Adams was seventh at a PR distance of 35.21 meters )115-6) and freshman Skylar Marso finished ninth with a PR toss of 29.89 meters (98-0)
  • Woodring was the runner-up in the shot put at 10.57 meters (34-8.25) while junior Arin Peykar took third with a mark of 10.37 meters (34-0.25), Vashey finished fourth at 10.04 meters (32-11.25) and Adams was fifth at 8.83 meters (28-11.75)
  • Vashey finished second in the discs with a toss of 33.14 meters (108-8) while Fish placed third at 31.71 meters (104-0), Adams took fourth with a PR of 31.40 meters (103-0), Miskovsky was sixth with a PR mark of 27.60 meters (90-6) and Marso was ninth at 25.46 meters (83-6)
  • Junior Abby McClaskey was second in the javelin with a toss of 31.19 meters (102-4) while Miskovsky was third with a PR mark of 27.03 meters (88-8)
  • Groff took second in the high jump at 1.55 meters (5-1)
  • Junior Bella DeMassa finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.07 seconds while sophomore Makenna Mersch took third in 19.61 seconds
  • Mersch was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:11.74 while DeMassa took third at 1:19.71
  • Freshman Rachele Grigoli was second in the 100-meter dash in 13.37 seconds while sophomore Shai Knight finished third in 13.47 seconds and sophomore Caroline Melillo was eighth in a PR time of 14.40 seconds
  • Grigoli placed third in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.23 while Knight took fifth at 1:07.03, junior Ashley Rodrigues finished sixth in 1:09.89 and sophomore Grace Tirabassi was seventh at 1:12.73
  • Rodrigues had a PR time of 28.89 seconds to take fourth in the 200-meter dash while Tirabassi was seventh in 31.76 seconds
