Greyhounds Record Two ECAC Qualifiers at John Covert Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field squad had a pair of ECAC qualifiers in the non-scoring John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University at Rauch Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Sophomore John Spirk finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.59 seconds while senior Kahron Walker took third in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 6.82 meters (22-4.5).

Senior Cory Taggert finished third in the 400-meter dash in 51.77 while freshman Billy DiLolle placed seventh in the 60-meter dash in 7.14 seconds. Two Greyhounds finished in the top 10 in the 800-meter with freshman Greg Jaindl in fourth in the with a time of 1:59.98 and sophomore Devon Harris in seventh at 2:00.66. Jaindl and Harris combined with juniors Andrew Mitchell and Mike Kopach to win the 4x800-meter relay in 8:10.42.

Sophomore Scott Goodwin was fourth in the pole vault at 4.10 meters (13-5.25). In the throws, senior Greg Cahill finished sixth in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.41 meters (47-3.5) while sophomore Tyler Bergsma was ninth at 13.31 meters (43-8).

The Greyhounds are slated to return to competition on Saturday, February 4 at Ithaca College Bomber Invitational.
