Jaindl Named ECAC Division III Metro Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. --- Moravian College freshman Greg Jaindl has been named the ECAC Division III Metro Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week for his performance last week.

Jaindl ran the anchor leg of Moravian's school and Landmark Conference record setting sprint medley relay squad that posted a time of 3:32.63 to finish third in their heat at the Penn Relays last Friday. On Saturday, he placed eighth in the 800-meter run at the Lehigh University games in a time of 1:57.63.

"Greg had a weekend anchoring our sprint medley relay at the Penn Relays in a new school record, and then coming back the next day in the 800 running a PR in the 800 of 1:57," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He's got such great range and versatility from the 400 up to the distances so it's tough to figure out an event for him to focus on, but that's always a good problem to have."

Moravian is set to return to action when the squad hosts the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7 at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field.
