Condo Selected as Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior thrower Robert Condo has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Condo was the runner-up in the javelin at the non-scoring Coach P Invitational hosted by the Greyhounds with an ECAC qualifying toss of 59.64 meters (195-8), a personal best by over two meters (7-3). The distance has Condo in 15th place on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list, and the top 20 males will compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships at the University of Mount Union on May 25-27.

"Javelin is a tough event since you spend an inordinate amount of time training without getting the chance to compete," stated Head coach Jesse Baumann. "Rob kept focused this offseason when there are so many temptations to relax, and he's now seeing the results. He had a great start at Lafayette a few weeks ago, and has been improving every week. With the warmer weather they're forecasting this weekend, we're hoping he can start to get into the 60-meter range, which would give him a really good shot of making NCAAs in May. In fact, as of today he would be going to Cleveland."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15 when the squad hosts the Annual Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field.
