BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey program has named seniors Sara Cruz and Olivia Schlofer as its team captains for the 2019 season.

"I look forward to seeing Sara and Olivia wear the captain bands again this year," stated third year Head Coach Kristen Powers. "Last year they earned the respect of their teammates and that got Sara voted into her third year as captain, and Olivia into her second. As seniors, they have truly developed into well rounded players and leaders on and off the field. Both Sara and Olivia have embraced our team culture and will do a great job leading their teammates in their final season."

Cruz enters her fourth years as a starter on Moravian's midfielder and forward lines this fall. Cruz has netted six goals in 50 career contests including a team-high five goals in 2018.

Schlofer will also be a four-year starter this year for the Greyhounds in the midfielder. She had one goal last fall, and Schlofer has contributed 10 goals and an assist in 50 career matches.

Moravian is slated to begin the 2019 season on Friday, August 30 with a non-conference contest versus DeSales University beginning at 4:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
