2020 Moravian College Field Hockey Seniors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- With the final semester of their college experience moved remotely by COVID-19, the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation today honors the seven senior members of the Greyhounds' field hockey squad that missed out on their traditional career-ending senior experiences.

Senior forward/midfielder Sara Cruz scored eight goals and two assists during her 67-match career. Sara, who was as a team captain for three seasons, has made Moravian's Dean's List once and was named to the 2019 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. Sara is majoring in psychology at Moravian, and she is the daughter of Denise and Ed Cruz.

"Sara was undoubtedly a team leader. She always went hard and always tried her best. Her competitive nature helped her team both on and off the field, as well as in the weight room. She saw potential in the team to go far and pushed her teammates to do more than they thought they could. These qualities will push her very far in life and make her the best she can be in what she sets her heart out for."

Senior defender Devyn Lapp recorded one defensive save in 44 career contests. Devyn was named to the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll three times, and she was also selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad all four years while being on Moravian's Dean's List six times. She is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. Devyn is majoring in political science and Spanish at Moravian, and she is the daughter of Laurie and Todd Lapp.

"Devyn always was constantly looking for ways to improve on the field, there was never a time where she slacked off. She always wanted what was best for the team and loved seeing her teammates along with herself be successful. No matter the situation, Devyn could find the good in it and make everyone laugh. She has an amazing one of a kind personality and you could always approach her to talk about anything. We all wish Devyn the best of luck as she graduates, and we hope she continues to be successful."

Senior Ashley Magee saw action in 25 matches with two goals, and she was a two-time selection to the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, and a three-time honoree on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad. She has been on the Dean's List three times. Ashley is majoring in nursing at Moravian, and she is the daughter of Kelly and David Magee.

"Ashley was integral to the field hockey team both on and off the field. Her spirits were always high, and she could make anyone laugh. Her work ethic showed through her studies and her performance as an athlete. She was always there to support her teammates and wanted to see everyone succeed. Ashley's positive attitude and kind heart are going to lead her to a very successful career as a nurse and all of us on the team are grateful for the time, we got to spend with her."

Senior forward Kylie Mastricola contributed one goal and two assists in 40 career matches. Kylie is majoring in psychology and sociology at Moravian, and she is the daughter of Julie and Darin Mastricola.

"Kylie was known for always putting in the extra effort for her teammates, whether it was on the field, doing fundraisers or hosting amazing cookouts at her home after a game. She was always willing to go the extra mile, looking out for her teammates, which is something they will always remember her by. This carried over to the field as she also did her best and was aggressive to the ball. These key qualities will make her successful in whatever she sets out to achieve in life."

Senior midfielder Olivia Schlofer had 10 goals and one assist in 64 career matches. Olivia, who has made the Dean's List seven times at Moravian, was a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, and a four-time selection to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad. Olivia is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. Olivia is majoring in nursing with a minor in Spanish at Moravian, and she is the daughter of Linda and Michael Schlofer.

"Driven would be the best way to describe her. She never gave up, always worked hard and played 100% every game. She cared for each player with their own connection. You could always count on her to listen and to always give you good feedback. She had the best interest in the team and there was never a time you could not count on her."

Senior forward/midfielder Elisa Silecchia had one goal and two assists in 63 career games. Elisa was honored on the 2018 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. She has made Moravian's Dean's List once. Elisa is majoring in education with a minor in psychology at Moravian, and she is the daughter of Sandra and James Silecchia.

"She's a fun and loving team player with an overall good spirited person. She worked hard and pushed everyone the past four years to be the best. Her commitment to the team was unbelievable and showed every player that she truly loved field hockey. You would never see her without a smile on or having fun. She will truly be missed for her dedication and fun-loving spirit."

Senior defender Haley Wrazien had one goal and five defensive saves in 46 career contests. Haley is a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll and the three-time honoree on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad. She was selected to the 2019 Landmark Conference Fall All-Sportsmanship Team, and Haley is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. Haley is majoring in nursing at Moravian, and she is the daughter of Alisa Wrazien.

"Haley was a team player who never gave up, and always had the best interest in the team. She came in every season with more knowledge than the last and played with heart. When things got tough, she could easily explain what the next best option could be. She always had a fun outlook no matter where we were. Her generosity to this team will be greatly missed."
