Moravian Falls to Scranton in Landmark Conference Action on John Makuvek Field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team fell to visiting The University of Scranton, 5-0, in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds and Royals were scoreless through the first half of the contest with the Hounds getting a shot on goal by sophomore forward Ava Edwards. Moravian had a shot on the cage early in the second half from freshman midfielder Mackenzie Jakobsen but it would be Scranton the broke through with a goal to lead 1-0 after 45 minutes of action. Edwards put another shot on goal in the fourth; however, Scranton scored four times in the quarter.

Blue and Grey junior goalie Ashley Kunsman recorded four saves in 51 minutes of action to become the fourth goalie in school history with 400 career saves while freshman keeper Brooke Wilkinson had four saves in nine minutes in the cage.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, October 16 when the squad hosts Elizabethtown College in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
