Hounds Fall to William Paterson on Fourth Quarter Goal

BETHLEHEM, PA. --- The Moravian College field hockey squad fell to visiting William Paterson (N.J.) University, 2-1, in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field on a goal in the fourth quarter.

The Pioneers opened the scoring with a tally nine and a half minutes into the contest. The Greyhounds responded just over two minutes before the intermission when freshman midfielder Emily Wells blasted a shot from just inside the top of the circle through traffic and into the left side of the net for her second goal of the season.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Pioneers scored just 49 seconds into the fourth quarter to move back in front.

Moravian junior goalie Ashley Kunsman registered six saves while freshman defender Elise Keeney recorded a defensive save.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Wednesday, September 11 in a non-conference contest at Delaware Valley University beginning at 7:00 p.m.
