DOYLESTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team waited three weeks to complete it non-conference match at Delaware Valley University, and then the contest went into overtime with the host Aggies pulling out a 3-2 victory Wednesday evening.

The match was scheduled for and began on Wednesday, September 11 but an extended stretch of lightning forced the two schools to suspend the second half of match until today. When the contest was suspended three weeks ago, it was tied at 1-1. The Greyhounds had scored first during the second quarter when sophomore forward Ava Edwards netted her second goal of the season on a long through pass from sophomore midfielder Olivia Emrick. The Aggies answered just 45 seconds before the intermission to knot the score at 1-1 when the lightning began.

The teams resumed action Wednesday, and Moravian needed just over three minutes of play in the third quarter to retake the lead as Edwards scored again off of a crossing pass from senior forward Sara Cruz. The lead was short-lived as Delaware Valley scored four minutes later to knot the match at 2-2.

Neither the Blue and Grey and the Aggies were able to score during the fourth quarter with Moravian out-shooting Delaware Valley, 4-2, in the period. The teams headed to overtime after the 60 minutes of regulation, and the Aggies netted the winning goal in the 67th minute off of a double deflection.

Moravian junior goalie Ashley Kunsman recorded 12 saves in the match.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 5 when the squad hosts Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
