TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior goalie Ashley Kunsman has been selected as the Landmark Conference Field Hockey Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Kunsman helped Moravian to a 1-1 record last week with a 0.43 goals-against average and 25 saves over two matches. Kunsman made 12 saves in a 1-0 loss at Wilkes University last Wednesday before stopping 13 shots in regulation and overtime and then another two shots in a shootout to lead Moravian to a 1-0 shootout win at Cedar Crest College on Saturday.

"Ashley was absolutely a brick wall and leader of our defense this week," commented Head Coach Kristen Powers. "Shutting down Wilkes for almost the entire game and holding them to one goal and then being able to make huge saves in overtime against Cedar Crest and stop every one of their shootout attempts truly shows how versatile and solid of a goalie she is."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, September 24 when the squad hosts Lancaster Bible College in a non-conference contest beginning at 5:30 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
